Kenya. My name is Teresia Antony Omolo from Nairobi, Kenya. I am a struggling single mother living with 2 teenage girls. My past business career was in hairdressing and beauty but that was over 14 years ago. I was forced out of working by my children’s father. I experienced abuse and discrimination that rendered me helpless and destitute.
I had to run away with my children to escape abuse and through the courts after several years of threats and intimidation, the man was issued with a restraining order to stop him from pursuing us. We are being sheltered by my sister since 2021 and it has been quite a struggle to meet my family needs because I have not recovered financially. Currently I am involved with volunteering in my community by training abandoned single mothers to gain skills and earn income to take care of their families. I am happy that I decided to learn to become self reliant again through Interweave online training. This is a wonderful training since I am developing hope of reviving my career and goals in life. Through the course, I am able to audit and account for my business budget.
